Airtel can bring cheap 4G smartphones, vendor blows talk:
In the year 2018, there have been reports since the launch of JioPhone 4g, Airtel is preparing to bring cheap 4g smartphones to hit Jio, though Airtel preparations are still going on two years later. Now, once again, Airtel is negotiating with vendors for a 4g smartphone priced at Rs 2,500.
This phone will receive Airtel SIM inbuilt with free data such as offers. According to the report, Airtel is talking to the domestic mobile company Micromax, Lava, and Carbon Mobile for cheap smartphones, though Airtel has not officially made any statement on the issue. Let us say that there are about 40 crore people in India who are still using feature phones. These people are closely monitoring the telecom companies.
Jio’s cheapest 4G phones to be launched by December
Earlier this week, it was reported that Reliance Jio would offer 10 crore cheap 4g smartphones by the end of December 2020 or January 2021. The phone will also get data offers. Reports say that Jio’s cheapest 4g Android smartphone will launch in Partnership with Google. A few months ago, Google announced a $4.5 billion investment in Jio.
In July this year, Jio said that Google is working on a cheaper Android version and will also offer its phone with the same version. This cheap 4g smartphone of Google and Jio will aggravate the troubles of companies like Mi, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, and Nokia. Let’s say that the share of Realme, Oppo, and Vivo in the 7,360 price smartphone market in India is about 14,713 crore.
